Personas
Decide how much of your knowledge your Twin shares based on who's asking.
What Are Personas?
Personas are audience-specific access levels you grant to other people for your Twin. They determine how much of your knowledge the Twin draws on when someone asks it a question.
Where Privacy Rules say what's off-limits to everyone, Personas say how much is open to this particular person.
The Three Persona Types
Standard Persona (default)
Your Twin only grounds answers in artifacts the requester already has access to via their own permissions and your shared content. Nothing that's privately yours leaks out.
This is the default for most people in your org. It's safe to leave it here.
Full Persona
Your Twin can ground answers in everything you have access to — including content that the asker themself wouldn't normally see — subject to your Privacy Rules.
Use this for trusted collaborators who effectively need to "ask you as if they were you" — direct reports asking for context, your chief of staff, a peer covering for you, your manager.
Custom Persona
Custom Persona lets you define exactly what's visible — scoped to specific topics, keywords, document types, or other criteria you set. You decide the shape of the window; the Twin only draws on knowledge that matches.
Use this when Standard is too narrow and Full is too broad — for example, a contractor who needs your product knowledge but not your customer conversations, or a colleague who should see your technical context but not your HR-related threads.
Once configured, you can share a Custom Persona with specific colleagues or Expert Twins, just like Standard or Full.
How to Grant Personas
Go to My Twin → Personas. Add a person, choose the persona type, and save. You can change or revoke access at any time.
People you've granted Full or Custom Persona can see this in their own settings, so the trust is mutual and visible.
Personas in Practice
- A teammate asks your Twin about a project you're both on. Standard Persona — they see what they'd see anyway, just answered in your voice.
- Your manager asks your Twin to summarize what you've been working on. Full Persona — they get the full picture even on threads they weren't on.
- A contractor needs your product context but not your customer conversations. Custom Persona — scoped to the topics and document types that are relevant to their work.
- An Expert Twin you contribute to gets a question from someone with Full Persona to you. Your contributions can include your full document universe.
- The same Expert Twin gets the same question from someone with Standard Persona. Your contributions are scoped to what that asker can already see.
Personas vs. Privacy Rules vs. Artifact Sharing
Three different levers, three different jobs:
| Lever | Job |
|---|---|
| Privacy Rules | What's off-limits regardless of who asks |
| Personas | How much of what's allowed gets surfaced for a specific asker |
| Artifact Sharing | Which specific Training Your Twin artifacts a person can access |
Use them together. Privacy Rules set the outer boundary, Personas tune the breadth, Artifact Sharing handles individual pieces of curated knowledge.
